When winter comes, people from Toronto know where to go to skate: the Natrel Rink at Harbourfront Centre. The place is open 7 days a week and has exciting activities for everyone of all ages. There are locker rooms available for rent, enough changing rooms, and a lot of seating area. Rubber mats are placed above the changing rooms as well leading to a restaurant.
The Natrel Rink is set against Lake Ontario’s shoreline so people are assured to get a good view while skating. It has been the go-to rink for people in Toronto for nearly 30 years, and to top it all off, it is all for free. When needing to warm up, the place offers hot food and drinks. The changing rooms are also heated when it gets too cold.
There is always something happening at the rink every week. They can even teach people how to skate no matter how old they are and what their skill levels are. Lessons include forward and backward pushing and cross-cutting, gliding techniques, stopping and turning. For kids, there is an artificial skate rink at the back for some lessons as well.
There are also times when people can go skating for leisure with less people. Couples go out here for a date skate as well given the beautiful view Lake Ontario gives.
Last but definitely not the least, everyone looks forward to the Saturday events. Every Saturday, the Natrel Rink has music played by a DJ and for everyone to have a good time. The theme changes every weekend and so do the music. This year, they had music from Beyonce, disco music, Latin-inspired hits, and in some Saturdays, they even invite special people to come and dance with the people.
In any case, anyone needs help, they may simply ask the staff and personnel of the rink. They will be glad to assist you.
